Gorgeous Surf Video by Matt Kleiner

The thing I lvoe about the digital revolution is that everyone can now have the tools to create something, we are becoming creators of content instead of pure consumers of it. More and more of us are starting to get up off our asses and create amazing content because the barrier of entry is so much less of an issue these days.

For example, shooting amazing quality video in the ocean and then being able to edit it gorgeously is something that can be done now with little effort so that you can focus on being creative rather than the tools becoming a restriction

INSPIRATION : ERIC KIM

Eric Kim is a photographer I've only recently started following, his street photography is good....real good, along with his blog where he shares a lot of knowledge as well as stories I'm not entirely sure why but his stuff kind of reminds me of William Eggleston's work, not entirely sure why considering he was particularly known for his work with color film but it just does, maybey it was the style of this film I just watched.

Anyway, that film I've made sure I have imbedded it in this post, I do apologise for the time I've taken out of this blog, but I have been thinking about a lot of things regarding myself, my photography, as well as I have also started a new day job which has a lot of training before I start at the new job. So I do apologise for that......this video however along with Eric really has sparked something in me that I'm not to sure what I should do about, but we shall see what happens

This is a gem of a video I stumbled across, I know it may be a little old but you know me, if I like it, I will bring it to your attention.

Now it starts out a little slow, thats a given, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stick with it, its an amazing story and very inspirational.

Its about an artist from France named "JR" who is a street / graffiti artist / photographer....an artist.

Hey there guys, just thought I'd pass on a really good write up that PetaPixel did about a 76 year old man named Baojun Yuan who lives in China where alot of people cannot afford a service that he is offering, this service is Photo Restoration. What this involves is the RESTORATION of photos rather than the RETOUCHING of photos, apparently he learnt Photoshop at the age of 60 and has since offered his skills and services for free.

I wanna work for Threadless

Threadless is just a cool site to buy custom designed shirts from, I have always have liked Threadless Tees, but I think it was more than just the shirts, I think it was the fresh, young, vibrant, creative and cool atmosphere that the company put across in their identity through their own website along with also publicity stuff aswell.

Not only are their images gorgeous but so are their design and from what I gather from the video posted above, the working environment looks pretty damn good too.

So yes, I would love to work for Threadless.....or at least a company like them. :)

Inspiration : Dave Hill

Go to google.com, then type in Dave Hill tutorial, you will see a flood of posting of people trying to get this amazingly surreal look but also expect to just press a preset or an action and have their photos instantly and magically change into a Dave Hill lookalike.

Pop on over to Dave Hill's site and you will see why exactly everyone wants to be able to offer this as a style to their clients, its just cool. BUT you can also see the amount of work that Dave and his crew put into every single shoot from looking at his BTS videos.

Watch as he lights each and every component of the scene individually and then look at what he is capturing and what is actually viewable in the final shot. You will realise there is an amazing amount of compositing put into his photos aswell.

So make sure to pop over to his site and prepare to be amazed, and dont forget to check out his BTS videos down the bottom too!
